Trip Introduction:
The Kathmandu–Nagarkot–Pokhara–Lumbini–Chitwan City Tour is a comprehensive journey highlighting Nepal’s most remarkable attractions, including its UNESCO World Heritage Sites. This all-inclusive tour also features a mountain flight over the Everest region, providing a spectacular view of the Himalayas. Nepal, with its dense concentration of heritage sites, offers a unique opportunity to experience all its major cultural and historical landmarks in a single, easy-to-enjoy trip.
The tour begins with sightseeing in the Kathmandu Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that features seven prominent monuments: three medieval palaces (Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, and Bhaktapur Durbar Square), two Buddhist monuments (Swayambhunath Stupa and Boudhanath Stupa), and two Hindu temples (Pashupatinath and Changu Narayan). The palaces showcase 17th-century courtyards, statues, and authentic Newari architecture.
The itinerary also includes visits to Nagarkot and Sarangkot hills for breathtaking sunrises and panoramic views of the Himalayas, as well as the historic town of Tansen in Palpa.
In Pokhara, travelers can enjoy the beauty of Phewa and Begnas Lakes, explore the Bat Cave, visit the International Mountain Museum, and marvel at the Annapurna, Machapuchhre, and Dhaulagiri peaks. Next, the tour proceeds to Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha. December 23- Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu and Brief discussion upon the trip (Christmas Day)
After breakfast in the morning we start a small sightseeing in Kathmandu in the three famous UNESCO World heritage enlisted sites: “Pashupatinath Temple” the biggest temple for Hindus, “Swayambhunath Stupa” also known as the monkey temple which is one of the famous religious Stupa for Buddhists and “Boudhanath Stupa” the biggest Stupa in Nepal located in Kathmandu. After this short visit to religious sites we make early preparations for our trip and make sure everything is okay. As it is the second day, we will make you brief introduction on your trip and your guide/s too. At the evening we will host a welcome dinner offering typical Nepalese cuisine in one of the finest Nepalese Restaurants in Kathmandu. Overnight in Kathmandu Hotel.

December 24- Day 03: Patan, Bhaktapur, Kathmandu durbar square sightseeing & Overnight at Nagarkot (2,175 m./7,136 ft.)
Today we will be visiting the historical monuments in the cities of Patan and Bhaktapur. Patan bestows you with spectacular Patan Durbar Square, Kathmandu durbar Square, Shrines, Stupas, temples, monasteries and Buddhist Stupas. Bhaktapur is one of the medieval cities of Kathmandu Valley. Bhaktapur Durbar Square is the center of attraction of Bhaktapur. The old royal palace, numerous shrines and statues, rich craftsmanship etc are really worth exploring in this region. We will then drive to Nagarkot hill station with is few kilometers away from the main Bhaktapur City. Few hours of drive through the route filled with green trees and rich vegetation would be a great adventure. Upon reaching Nagarkot, we will transfer to the hotel. Later, we will go for enjoying the magical view of Sunset from its vantage point. The view of sunset is really amazing and worth capturing in the cameras. We will then get back to the hotel for the night stay.

December 25-Day 04: Nagarkot to Pokhara (1,740 m/5,710 ft) 225 km, About 6hrs. Drive
Early in the morning, we will enjoy one of the most spectacular sunrises from Nagarkot. After breakfast, we continue our journey, passing through Nagarkot and visiting Bhaktapur en route to Pokhara. Pokhara is Nepal’s second-largest city by population and the largest by area, situated about 200 kilometers (120 miles) west of Kathmandu. The city’s elevation ranges from 827 meters (2,713 feet) in the south to 1,740 meters (5,710 feet) in the north.
Nestled near the Annapurna Range, Pokhara offers close views of some of the world’s highest peaks, including Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I, and Manaslu, located within 24–56 kilometers (15–35 miles) from the valley. Known as the tourism capital of Nepal, Pokhara serves as a gateway for trekkers exploring the Annapurna Circuit and the Annapurna Conservation Area. The city is also home to many elite Gurkha soldiers, adding to its unique cultural significance

December 26-Day 05: Pokhara city tour & Overnight at Sarangkot.
Pokhara Sightseeing and Activities:
Early in the morning around 7 a.m., enjoy the stunning mountain views in Pokhara. The city offers breathtaking panoramas of Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhre, the five peaks of Annapurna, and other surrounding mountains. Known as the “City of Lakes,” Pokhara is home to numerous beautiful lakes, with Fewa Lake being the most accessible and popular. In the afternoon, you can explore the lake, enjoy boating, relax by the waterside, and even shop in the evening.
A visit to Sarangkot provides one of the most remarkable Himalayan viewpoints. From here, you can enjoy sweeping vistas from Dhaulagiri (8,167m) in the west to Lamjung (6,983m) in the east, including Machhapuchhre (6,997m) and Annapurna II (7,937m). Overnight stay is in Sarangkot.
Pokhara City Tour Highlights:
Devi’s Fall: Also called Patale Chhango (Underground Waterfall), this waterfall is named after a Swiss woman, Ms. Devi, who tragically drowned here in 1961. Located just 2 km south of Pokhara Airport, it is easily accessible by bus or taxi.
Gupteshwor Cave: Located opposite Devi’s Fall, this large cave is a popular pilgrimage site with a naturally formed image of Lord Shiva. A tunnel behind the Shiva statue connects to Devi’s Fall, offering adventurous exploration for visitors.
Mahendra Cave: Named after the late King Mahendra, this natural cave lies about 9 km north of Pokhara Airport. It is partially unexplored, so carrying a torch or hiring a guide is recommended. Nearby is the Bat Cave (Chameri Gupha), another interesting attraction.
Bindabasini Temple: Situated 4 km north of the airport, this important pilgrimage site dedicated to Goddess Bhagwati is set on a small hillock and offers scenic views. The temple complex also includes a nearby Shiva temple.
Tibetan Refugee Camps: Pokhara has three Tibetan refugee camps—Chhorepatan (2 km south of the airport), Prithwichowk, and Hemja (7 km north of the airport). These camps provide insight into Tibetan culture, traditions, and handicrafts.
Buddhist Monastery (Nyeshang Monastery): Established in 1960 by the Manangi Buddhists, this monastery is located about 4 km east of the airport on a small hill, offering great views of the city and mountains.
Seti River: Originating from the Machhapuchhre Glacier, this river runs through Pokhara and disappears underground in a deep gorge at Bagar. Key viewpoints include KI Singh Bridge, Mahendrapool, and Prithvichowk.
Shanti Stupa (Peace Pagoda): Built on Anadu Hill, this Buddhist pagoda was constructed under the guidance of Nichidatsu Fujii and local supporters. Sitting at 1,100 meters, it offers panoramic views of the Annapurna range, Pokhara city, and Fewa Lake. It is one of only two Peace Pagodas in Nepal, the other being in Lumbini.

Lumbini Visit:
Early in the morning, depart from Pokhara and drive to Lumbini, located in the Holi area of Rupandehi District, Province No. 5. Upon arrival, enjoy welcoming ceremonies and cultural programs organized at the hotel. Take time to rest and explore the surroundings.
Lumbini is one of the most significant Buddhist pilgrimage sites in the world. According to tradition, Queen Mayadevi gave birth to Siddhartha Gautama here in 563 BCE. Siddhartha later attained Enlightenment around 528 BCE, becoming the Buddha and establishing the foundations of Buddhism.

December 28-Day 07: Lumbini Sightseeing. (Birthplace of Lord Buddha)
Lumbini Day Tour:
Early in the morning, after breakfast, we begin our exploration of Lumbini, the sacred birthplace of Lord Buddha. The day includes visits to several important archaeological and religious sites, offering insight into Buddhist history, culture, and the life of Gautama Buddha. You can also spend leisure time exploring the surroundings.
Maya Devi Temple
This temple is dedicated to Queen Maya Devi, Buddha’s mother, and marks the exact location of his birth. The current structure has origins dating back to ancient times and forms the centerpiece of Lumbini’s sacred complex.
Ashoka Pillar
Erected in 259 BCE by King Ashoka, a follower of Buddhism, this pillar commemorates Buddha’s birthplace. King Ashoka historically exempted local villagers from taxes and gifted coins when it was constructed. Today, the pillar stands as a significant historical artifact.
Sacred Garden
The garden surrounding the Ashoka Pillar provides a peaceful setting for reflection and walking amidst the sacred sites.
Crane Sanctuary
Established to protect vulnerable crane species, this sanctuary is a serene spot for visitors to observe local wildlife.
Marker Stones and Puskarini Pond
Excavations at the Maya Devi Temple revealed marker stones identifying Buddha’s birth spot, now protected under glass. Nearby, Puskarini Pond is believed to be where Queen Maya took a ritual bath before giving birth. The pond features terraced steps and well-preserved brickwork.
Monasteries
Lumbini hosts monasteries built by countries including Myanmar, Thailand, China, Vietnam, Germany, Sri Lanka, Korea, and more. Among them:
Myanmar Golden Temple: Features three prayer halls and the Lokamani Pula Pagoda, reminiscent of the Shwe-dagon Pagoda.
World Peace Pagoda: Constructed by the Japanese, it is a striking white structure with a golden Buddha statue.
Dharma Swami Maharaja Buddha Vihar: A Tibetan-style monastery where daily Tara Puja is conducted by resident monks.
China Temple: Comprises prayer rooms, pagodas, and meditation cells.
Lumbini Museum
Located at the northern end of the complex, the museum showcases photographs, artifacts, and exhibits related to the life of Buddha and Buddhist heritage worldwide.
Visitors can also enjoy the natural surroundings, including diverse bird species such as the Sarus Crane, Indian Spotted Eagle, and owls. For those interested, the Lumbini circuit tour provides a chance to explore 64 scattered archaeological sites and nearby villages, giving an authentic experience of local culture, customs, and daily life.

After breakfast, we will begin our journey to Chitwan, which takes approximately 5 hours by road. Chitwan District spans an area of 2,238.39 km² (864.25 sq mi). Bharatpur, the main city in the district, serves as a hub for commerce, services, education, healthcare, and transportation in the central-southern region of Nepal.

December -30 Day 09: Chitwan Safari (Chitwan National Park)
After breakfast, we will spend the day exploring Chitwan National Park on an exciting safari. The park, the main attraction of Chitwan, offers a full day of wildlife experiences and nature exploration.
Chitwan National Park, Nepal’s first national park, was established in 1973 and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984. It spans 952.63 km² (367.81 sq mi) in the subtropical Inner Terai lowlands of south-central Nepal, covering parts of Nawalpur, Parsa, Chitwan, and Makwanpur districts. The park’s elevation ranges from 100 m (330 ft) in the river valleys to 815 m (2,674 ft) in the Churia Hills. Its northern and western boundaries are naturally defined by the Narayani-Rapti river system. To the east lies Parsa National Park, while the south borders India’s Valmiki Tiger Reserve. Together, these areas form a protected block of 3,549 km² (1,370 sq mi), known as the Chitwan-Parsa-Valmiki Tiger Conservation Unit, featuring rich alluvial grasslands and subtropical moist deciduous forests.

January -1 Day 11: Mountain flight to Everest Region. (New Year’s Day Special)
After breakfast in the early morning, we will start our journey for the mountain flight. This flight will take a couple of hours, and the rest of the day will be free for you to do whatever you like, as per your choice.
The Everest Scenic Flight takes you deep into the Himalayas in the Everest region, offering a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
During the flight, you will fly close to Mount Everest, the world's highest mountain at 8,848 meters. You will get to enjoy amazing views of Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Makalu, Ama Dablam, Cho Oyu, and many other peaks.
In this package, you will fly for about an hour near some of the world's highest peaks, including Mount Everest.
You can clearly see and identify these peaks, as well as enjoy the Himalayan landscape and glaciers during the flight. Just got home from our second trek in the Himalayas with Dorjee sherpa. We treked to tengboche for the mani rimdu festival. The festival was incredible and the mountains are magnificent. Dorjee is a great guide and we really enjoyed staying at his Buddha lodge and meeting his wonderful family.
