About Trip:

Climbing Mount Everest is widely regarded as the pinnacle of mountaineering achievement. Each year, the mountain sees around 1,000 summit attempts. Everest can be approached from both the southern side in Nepal and the northern side in Tibet. Following China’s closure of the Tibetan border after the Cultural Revolution in the 1950s, Nepal opened its doors to foreign climbers, making the southern route through the Khumbu Valley the most popular. The first successful ascent of Everest was accomplished in 1953 by Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Edmund Hillary via the South Col. Climbing Everest is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, but expeditions face numerous challenges, including extreme altitude, harsh weather, and physical exhaustion. Ensuring climbers’ safety is our top priority, and we design our expedition programs accordingly.

Lhotse, located about 3 km south of Mount Everest, is separated from it by the South Col. Its name means “South Peak” in Tibetan. The Lhotse massif includes three peaks: Lhotse Main, Lhotse Shar, and Lhotse Middle (East). The long east-west ridge connects Everest and Lhotse via the South Col. Lhotse’s South Face is one of the most technically demanding and largest mountain faces in the world. A particularly hazardous section during the climb is the Khumbu Icefall. Everest and Lhotse share the same base camp, and Lhotse is considered part of the Everest massif itself.
