Manaslu (also known as Kuang) is the eighth highest mountain in the world. It is located forty miles east of Annapurna and dominates the Gurkha massif. The mountain's long ridges and valley glaciers offer feasible approaches from all directions, and it culminates in a peak that towers steeply above its surrounding landscape and is a dominant feature when seen from afar.  This mountain was previously known as Kutan l. 'tang' being the Tibetan word for flat place, thereby describing the mountain's general summit.  The name was later changed to Manaslu, which is derived from the Sanskrit word Manasa and can be roughly translated as Mountain of the Spirit.

The first ascent of this peak was in 1956 by T. Imanishi and Gyalzen Norbu (Japanese expedition).  The peak was not climbed again until 1971 when a Japanese team made the second ascent.  It was not until 1997 that Charlie Mace made the first American ascent.  There are a half dozen established routes on the mountain today, the south face being arguably the toughest in climbing history.  As of 2003, the peak has seen only 240 successful ascents and 52 fatalities, making it the 4th most dangerous 8000m peak, behind Annapurna, Nanga Parbat, and...

Day 01: Arrival Kathmandu, transfer hotel

Day 02-03: Kathmandu (1400 m), free day, Preparation Day (Welcome Dinner)

Included meals: Bed and Breakfast, Welcome Dinner.

Day 04: Drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar (760m)

Day 05: Trek from Besisahar to Dharapani (1,860)

Day 06: Trek from Dharapani to Tilije (2,300m)

Day 07: Trek from Tilije to Bhimthang (3,720m)

Day 08: Acclimatization at Bhimthang (rest day)

Day 09: Trek from Bhimthan to Samdo (3,872m) via Larke Pass (5,160m)

Day 10: Trek from Samdo to Sama Gaun (3,541m)

Day 11: Trek from Sama Gaun to Manaslu Base camp (4700m)

Day 12-Day 33: Climbing Period [Base Camp - Manaslu Summit (8,163m)– Base Camp]

Day 34: Trek from Manaslu Base Camp to Sama Gaun (3,541m)

Day 35: Trek from Sama Gaun to Namrung (2,670m

Day 36: Trek from Namrung to Philim (1,606m)

Day 37: Trek from Philim to Machha Khola (883m)

Day 38: Trek from Machha Khola to Arughat (606m)

Day 39: Drive from Arughat to Kathmandu & transfer to the Hotel

Day 40: Leisure Day in Kathmandu

Day 41: Final Departure, transfer to Airport

Cost Includes:

  • Porter: Porters up to Base camp & Porters return from Base camp
  • Staff Salary and allowance: All Nepali staffs & porters daily wages, equipment, food & clothing
  • Insurance: All Nepalese Staffs Medical & Emergency rescue Insurance
  • Base Tent: North face or similar tents for base camp for per member
  • Base equipment: Base camp foam mattresses, dining, Kitchen, Toilet tents, hot shower, Tables & chairs & Cooking gears
  • Heater: Heater for base camp in each Dining
  • Light: Solar panel for battery charge and light at base camp for use.
  • Walkie talkie for communication (later to be Returned)
  •  High Altitude Climbing Sherpa: 1 Climbing Sherpa (Helpful experienced Sherpa well English Speaking with experience of the summit of Manaslu and other 8000 over mountains like Everest for Multiple times…) per member for the entire program duration with the member.      
  • Transportation: Necessary all equipment Transportation for all Member and Staffs from Kathmandu-Arughat (by Tourist standard vehicle) –Base camp (by Porters)- Arughat (by porters/donkey)- Kathmandu (by Tourist standard vehicle)
  • Payment of Government taxes  
  • Dinner:  Welcome Dinner in a tourist standard restaurant in Kathmandu
  • Oxygen: (O2)-2 For Member,1 For Sherpa. (With Regulator Mask)
  • High camp service: Necessary cooking gas, cooking pot for the member, high altitude Sherpa, high altitude tent on sharing basis, and high food and fixing gear (C1) (C2) (C3) (C4)  

     

Cost Excludes:

  • Rescue Service (Can be managed when needed)
  • Lunch & Dinner: Lunch & dinner in Kathmandu and Pokhara Hotel stay and more than 5 nights in Kathmandu Hotel 
  • Insurance: Travel and high-altitude insurance, accident, medical & emergency evacuation  
  • Personal Expenses: Telephone, Internet, Laundry, any Alcoholic beverages, personal equipment and shopping  
  • A credit facility is not provided. (The amount should be accurate.)
  • Nepal's Visa: Nepali Visa fee
