TRIP INTRODUCTION:

 

Lobuche East Peak Climbing with Everest Base Camp trek is the most popular peak for climbing the Everest region as Island peak. This peak is also used as for acclimatization peak before climbing the 8000s. Lobuche East peak lies in the famous Everest region and is close to the Khumbu glacier. 

Lobuche East Peak Climbing with Everest Base Camp trek also takes you to the paradise of Everest Base Camp area and the top of Kalapatthar. Lobuche East Climb is a bit challenging than Island peak climbing but equally rewarding as well. We can have the amazing panoramic views of Everest region for the untimate khumbu valley Experience.

September 13th- Day 01Arrival in Kathmandu and a brief discussion on trip (1,300m/4,264 ft.)

Welcome to Nepal, the Land of Himalayas! Upon your arrival our representative from Himalayan Traverse will welcome to you at the airport and take you to your respective hotel. As it is the first day, we will make you brief introduction on your trip and your guide/s too. Overnight in Kathmandu Hotel.

September 14th - Day 02Sightseeing in Kathmandu

After breakfast in the morning, we start a small sightseeing in Kathmandu in the three famous UNESCO World heritage enlisted sites: “Pashupatinath Temple” the biggest temple for Hindus, “Swayambhunath Stupa” also known as the monkey temple which is one of the famous religious stupas for Buddhists and “Boudhanath Stupa” the biggest Stupa in Nepal located in Kathmandu. After this short visit to religious sites, we make early preparations for our trip and make sure everything is okay. Overnight in Kathmandu Hotel.

September 15th - Day 03Fly to Lukla (2,860 m/9,383 ft.): 45 min flight, trek to Phakding (2,651m/8,700ft): 3-4 hrs walk

Early in the morning we take short scenic mountain flight from Kathmandu to Lukla which will be about 35 minutes and we start our journey for Everest Base Camp. As we land on Tenzing Hillary Airport we hold on a bit in Lukla as the guides and porters manage the baggage. Then we head for Phakding, a small Sherpa village which take a walk of three or four hours. Overnight at Phakding.

September 16th - Day 04Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,438m/11,280 ft.): 5-6 hrs walk.

Today, after having our morning breakfast we start our hike. With Dudhkoshi river by our side we also make entrance to Sagarmatha National park. After a straight walk of 5 or 6 hours, we reach Namche Bazaar which is also known as the “Gateway to Mount Everest”. From there we can enjoy the amazing view of Mount Everest and Mount Lhotse. Overnight at Namche Bazaar.

September 17th - Day 05Acclimatization Day at Namche Bazaar

After a continuous walk to Namche Bazaar, today we make our day as an acclimatization day. Today we can for activities as per your wish. For example, a short hike to Khumjung or Everest View Hotel and enjoying the view of the mighty Himalayas can be a good option. We also experience the Sherpa culture and learn about Sherpa and mountaineering history by making a short visit to Sherpa museum in Syangboche on the way and Khumjung School nearby. Overnight at Namche Bazaar.

September 18th - Day 06Namche Bazaar to Dole

After a sumptuous breakfast, we begin our trek to Dole with gradual ups and downs. The trail is scenic and keeps getting more and more amazing as we proceed ahead. On the way, we are likely to spot Himalayan pheasants, musk deer, and Himalayan Tahrs. Descending a little bit through the alpine and rhododendron forest, we reach the village of Kyanjuma, where we stop for a short break. Moving further ahead, we reach Sansa from where we will follow the Gokyo trails, which is a bit rough and lies just above the Dudh Koshi river’s gorge. From Mong La Pass, we get a glimpse of Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Thamserku, Mt. Tawoche, and Mt. Khumbila. From the pass, the trail descends to Dudh Koshi Khola after which it is an uphill climb up to Phortse. We get magnificent views of the mountains from this point. After hiking for a couple of hours through lush forest and green pastures, we will reach Dole from where we get to watch the mesmerizing sunset views. Overnight in Dole.

September 19th - Day 07Dole to Machherma

Trek from Dole begins with a fairly tricky descent on a slippery, snow-covered slope. Then, we begin to climb on a steady trail through a scenic ridge with views of Mt. Cho Oyu, Mt. Kantega, and Mt. Thamserku. The uphill walk comprises of increasingly barren hillside, covered in tundra grasses and dotted with scrub junipers. We cross a small settlement of Lhafarma, and then Luza village, tucked into a side valley. Ascending from Luza, we walk over the Dudh Koshi River and continue walking through sandy trails before reaching Machhermo, the last major settlement before Gokyo. We can visit the Himalayan Rescue Hospital to learn a lot related to altitude sickness. Overnight in Machhermo.

September 20th - Day 08Machherma to Gokyo

Today, we leave the foothills and ascend on a hill gradually entering the desolate tundra of the high mountains, enjoying views of the Dudh Koshi valley and Mt. Kangtega, Mt. Thamserku and Mt. Cho-Oyu. Beyond the ridge, the valley widens as the trail passes through a Chorten and we reach Phangga. We descend to the river bank before climbing up to the terminal moraine of the Ngozumpa Glacier on a steep trail. We pass through Longpongo, Raboche Tsho and Dudh Pokhari before reaching Gokyo. On the trail next to the first lake, we see what is believed to be the footprints of a Lama (Buddhist priest). We explore Dudh Pokhari before calling it a night. Overnight in Gokyo.

September 21st - Day 09Hike up Gokyo Ri & Trek Dragnag

This day we Hike up Gokyo ri for acclimatization and actually today is a rather short trekking day from Gokyo to Dragnag, following the trail that crosses the most impressive glacier in the entire Everest region – Ngozumpa Glacier. You leave Gokyo and trek towards Drahnag for our overnight stay, to ready yourself for the crossing of the Cho-la Pass.

September 22nd - Day 10Dragnag To Dzongla via Chola Pass

Today you start early as we head for the crossing of challenging Cho-la Pass, and follow the trail that ascends slightly along the valley and steepens as you approach the pass. The Cho-la Pass is covered with blue ice most of the time, giving trekkers a chill feeling. From the top of the pass, the trail descends steeply down for about an hour and then levels out slightly all the way to Dzongla.

September 25th - Day 13Trek to Lobuche (4,940 m/16,207 ft.): 5-6 hrs walk

Making our way through the Khumbu glaciers at the terminal moraine we climb up to Dugla. We can find the prayers flags and stones on our way up. We can see the clear views of peak like Khumbutse, Lingtren, Mahalangur himal and Pumori. Gradually after a hike of 5 to 6 hours we reach Lobuche situated beneath the Lhotse Ridge. Overnight at Lobuche.

(Note: This Day Both Trek and Climbing Teams Reunite.)

September 26th - Day 14Ascend Everest Base Camp (5,364 m/17,594 ft.) & Retrace to Gorak Shep (5,170 m/16,961ft)

Today is as exciting day as we will be hiking for Everest Base Camp, our final destination. It definitely is going to be as amazing experience but a bit challenging too. We make our way to Gorak Shep first and head towards Everest Base Camp then following the Khumbu Glacier trails. On the way we can view mountains which are Nuptse, Pumori and Khumbutse and finally reach Everest Base Camp where we will be exploring today. For overnight we return to Gorakshep.

September 27th - Day 15Trek to Kala Patthar (5,545m/18,192ft) and back to Lobuche

Early in the morning we depart for Kala Patthar to view the amazing sunrise seen from the Kala Patthar and other mighty Himalayas too. After enjoying the magnificent panorama from the top of Kala Patthar we head back to Lobuche for overnight stay.

September 28th - Day 16Lobuche to Pangboche(3,985m/13,074 ft.):

After taking our morning breakfast, From Lobuche we again retrace our path to Pheriche. On the way to Pheriche, we get to enjoy magnificent views of Mt. Ama Dablam in the distance. From Pheriche, we continue to Pangboche. We trek down through the hillside blanketed by rhododendron and juniper trees. If it’s spring, pink and red rhododendron flowers ablaze our surroundings. Upon reaching Pangboche we may also consider visiting the famous Pangboche Monastery.

Overnight in Pangboche.

September 29th - Day 17Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,280 ft.): 6-7 hrs walk

We descend back to Namche Bazaar crossing the rhododendron forests. Enjoying the natural beauty of the place and watching the smiley faces of Sherpa locals we make our way down to Namche Bazaar. Overnight at Namche Bazaar.

September 30th - Day 18Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2,800m/9,186 ft.): 6-7 hrs walk

We head to Lukla today making our way through the Sherpa villages. We may take rest at places like Phakding and after a couple of hours we reach Lukla for the flight back to Kathmandu early in the morning tomorrow. Overnight at Lukla.

October 1st - Day 19Fly back to Kathmandu: 45 min flight

As today we have to fly back to Kathmandu, we wake up early in the morning and make our early flight in Kathmandu. During the day you could take rest or buy yourself some souvenirs. On the occasion of our successful trip there will be a farewell dinner conducted by us in the evening.

October 2nd - Day 20:  Contingency/Backup Weather Day in Kathmandu

This is an extra day set aside to manage any unintended hindrances like flight delays or bad weather for climbing. Setting aside an extra day will ensure that even if  we were to face a day’s set back, the trip will continue thus guranteeing a successful climb.

October 3rd - Day 21Final departure

Today we will be biding you farewell. We will be hoping that you will come back to Nepal again for another adventurous trip. We will take you to the International airport some hours before the scheduled flight and finally you will depart back for your homeland!  Included meals: Breakfast
