About Trip:


"Gokyo(The World’s highest freshwater lake system), of that Thonak Lake, is the largest which lies - 4700 M - 5000 M. Major plain land at the height in the place so the view is the upshot."


Gokyo and Gokyo Ri Trek: Enter the Himalayas for the first time by flying to Lukla. The unique geography here has created Gokyo, which is one of a kind and holds the highest altitude in the world. This trek gives you the chance to experience the beauty of this area and climb Gokyo Ri, which is 5357 meters high, to feel truly alive. The journey starts with visiting a UNESCO site in Kathmandu, offering a chance to look back at history. Also, you'll see Everest National Park, another UNESCO site, where the famous Everest mountain stands. In the Gokyo valley, there are five beautiful lakes that provide amazing views for everyone to enjoy.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m / 4,429ft)

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, you’ll complete the necessary immigration and customs procedures. A representative from Himalayan Traverse will warmly welcome you and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax and recover from the long journey.

Day 02: Kathmandu UNESCO World Heritage Tour (1,350m / 4,429ft)

Today, explore three of Kathmandu’s renowned UNESCO World Heritage Sites accompanied by a licensed and knowledgeable local guide. The tour includes visits to Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple), Boudhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. In the evening, enjoy a warm Nepalese welcome dinner hosted by Himalayan Traverse, offering a chance to meet the team and your guides. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

Day 03: Fly to Lukla (2,860m / 9,383ft) and Trek to Phakding (2,651m / 8,700ft) – 3–4 hrs

Take an early morning scenic flight to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. After landing at the Tenzing-Hillary Airport, begin your trek towards Phakding, passing through Cheplung Village, where you can admire stunning views of Khumbila Peak (5,760m). The trail gently descends until reaching Phakding for an overnight stay.

Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,438m / 11,280ft) – 5–6 hrs

Follow the Dudh Koshi River trail and enter Sagarmatha National Park. Continue north through Benkar Valley, passing pine forests and picturesque suspension bridges. Along the way, get your first glimpse of Mount Everest and Mount Lhotse before reaching Namche Bazaar, the bustling hub of the Khumbu region.

Day 05: Acclimatization Day at Namche Bazaar

Spend the day acclimatizing and exploring Namche Bazaar. You can hike to Everest View Hotel or Khumjung Village for panoramic Himalayan views. Visit the Sherpa Museum and Khumjung School to learn about Sherpa culture and mountaineering history. Overnight stay in Namche Bazaar.

Day 06: Trek to Phortse Thanga (3,680m / 12,073ft) – 5–6 hrs

Ascend to Khumjung Hill, then descend through the valley on the eastern side. The trail leads along the Dudh Koshi River, offering peaceful forest paths and scenic views before arriving at Phortse Thanga. Overnight stay in Phortse Thanga.

Day 07: Trek to Machhermo (4,470m / 14,663ft) – 4–5 hrs

Today’s trail climbs steadily towards Machhermo, passing waterfalls, prayer flags, and yak pastures. The path follows the Dudh Koshi River, and you’ll encounter several chortens along the way. Enjoy the serene landscape and stay overnight at Machhermo.

Day 08: Trek to Gokyo (4,800m / 15,744ft) – 4–5 hrs

Begin your trek toward the mesmerizing Gokyo Lakes. Cross a wooden bridge over the river and reach the first of the beautiful turquoise lakes. Continue past the second and third lakes before arriving at Gokyo Village, nestled beside the third lake. Enjoy the breathtaking views and stay overnight in Gokyo.

Day 09: Acclimatization Day at Gokyo Valley

Spend the day exploring Gokyo Valley to adapt to the high altitude. You can hike to the fourth and fifth lakes, which offer spectacular reflections of Mount Everest and surrounding peaks. This scenic trek takes about five hours. Overnight in Gokyo.

Day 10: Trek to Dole (4,038m) – 3–4 hrs

Descend along the Dudh Koshi River, passing the first Gokyo Lake. Marvel at views of Cholatse and Taboche Peak. After a brief climb near the Chorten, you’ll see Thamserku, Cho Oyu, and Kangtega. Pass through Machhermo, Luza, and Lhafarma villages before reaching Dole.

Day 11: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m / 11,280ft) – 6–7 hrs

Follow the downhill trail through lush rhododendron forests. Along the way, enjoy warm smiles from local Sherpa villagers and captivating views of the mountains. Return to Namche Bazaar for an overnight stay.

Day 12: Trek to Lukla (2,800m / 9,186ft) – 6–7 hrs

Today marks your final trekking day. Pass through familiar Sherpa villages such as Phakding, enjoying the final glimpses of the Everest region before reaching Lukla. Prepare for your return flight to Kathmandu the next morning.

Day 13: Fly to Kathmandu (1,350m / 4,429ft)

Take a scenic morning flight back to Kathmandu. After arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for relaxation or souvenir shopping. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

Day 14: Final Departure

Your journey in Nepal concludes today. You’ll be transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport approximately three hours before your scheduled flight. The Himalayan Traverse team bids you farewell, hoping to welcome you again for another memorable Himalayan adventure.
