“You're off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting,
So... get on your way!”
― Dr. Seuss
Ama Dablam, often called the "Matterhorn of the Himalayas" due to its soaring ridges and steep faces, stands at 6,812 meters. It is the third most popular mountain for permitted expeditions in the Everest region.
The most common route to the summit is via the South-West Ridge, which is preferred by many beginner mountaineers. Despite its relatively moderate height, Ama Dablam is considered a technically challenging climb. Climbers face steep snow slopes, ice sections, and rock passages along the way, usually establishing three high camps during the ascent.
From Base Camp, reaching Camp I requires navigating the difficult saddle ridges before turning north to climb rocky terrain and boulder fields. At Camp I, climbers continue through a rocky bowl and ascend the ridge using fixed lines to reach Camp II. The route from Camp II involves crossing steep rocks and ridges to reach the next camp.
The climb from Camp II to Camp III is characterized by steep mixed routes of rock, ice, and snow. From Camp III, climbers tackle snow slopes, steep ice tunnels, and snow ridges to reach the summit, passing near a massive hanging glacier.
From the summit of Ama Dablam, breathtaking panoramic views unfold, including Mount Everest (8,848m), Lhotse (8,516m), Makalu (8,463m), Island Peak, and the surrounding Khumbu Himalayan peaks. The vistas make the challenging climb a truly rewarding experience.

Our trek continues until we reach the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park and Namche Bazaar, the gateway to Mt. Everest and the main trading hub of the region. Along the way, we cross five suspension bridges, including the highest, known as Hillary Bridge. From there, it’s an uphill walk to Namche Bazaar. Overnight stay will be in Namche Bazaar.
Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 05: Namche Bazaar (3,440 m/11,283 ft): Acclimatization Day
Today is dedicated to acclimatization. Health experts recommend staying active even on rest days, rather than remaining idle. Trekkers have several options: strolling through the charming villages of Namche Bazaar, engaging with the Sherpa people to learn about their rich culture, or hiking up to the Everest View Hotel for a close-up view of the majestic Mt. Everest. While exploring Namche or returning from the Everest View Hotel hike, visitors can also stop by the local museum, which showcases the region’s native flora, fauna, and the history of the Mount Everest area.
For those seeking a longer trek, a hike to Khumjung village (approximately 5–6 hours) is another option. In Khumjung, we can visit the Edmund Hillary School and Khumjung Monastery, famous for housing the head of the Yeti. Overnight stay will be in Namche Bazaar.

Day 08: Acclimatization above Dingboche(5500Ft)
We have optimum number of acclimatization days to minimize the chances of anyone being affected by AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness). Day 10: Pangboche to Ama Dablam Base Camp (4570m/15000ft)
We start by trekking back from Pangboche and cross the Dudh Koshi River. Next, we climb up a trail leading us to Ama Dablam Base Camp. From Ama Dablam Base Camp, the trek continues upward to Camp 1, situated at 5,700 meters (17,400 ft) via the standard route. Typically, climbers spend a night at Camp 1 to acclimatize before descending back to Base Camp to prepare for the final summit push. There are three camps above Base Camp leading up to the summit. The route from Base Camp to Camp 1 presents technical challenges. From Camp 1 onward, climbers use existing fixed ropes and set up additional lines as needed for both ascent and descent. The section between Camp 2 and Camp 3 involves a mix of rock, snow, and ice, with some unstable sections. The final stretch from Camp 3 to the summit is comparatively less technical. After reaching the summit, climbers return to Base Camp.
