INCLUDED MEALS: WELCOME DINNER
Day-03: Drive Sotikhola [710m/2,328 ft.] 8 - 9 hrs.
We set off early today for Sotikhola. Drive, with a view(Nepalese countryside nearly uncountable mountain sceneries). Driving on a paved road from Kathmandu - Dhading Bensi(district headquarter of Dhading)but the drive from Dhanding Bensi - Arughat is to be expected a little rough road. Being ArughatImajor town of the region) drive further to Sotikhola. Overnight in Soti Khola.
Day 04: Maccha Khola [900m/2,952 ft.]: 6 - 7 hrs.
At the bridge crossing, we walk through the lovely Sal forests and then go up the hills above the big Budhi Gandaki cliffs. We reach Khursane, where a rocky path goes down, skipping two hot waterfalls on a rocky ledge that hangs from the edge of a cliff. Eventually, it goes down and passes some rice fields, then climbs around the town of Gurung in Labubesi. We keep climbing after the big flood, which opens up the valley and shows the Budhi Gandaki meadows between wide stone walls. We fall onto a sandy river bed, rolling around before crossing a steep slope. We also go down to the river and cross another small bridge to get to Machha Khola village. We stay overnight in Machha Khola.
Day 05: Jagat [1,410m/ 4,625 ft.]: 6 - 7 hrs
The narrow path goes up a little, then down, and finally crosses Tharo Khola to reach Chorlabesi. After some hiking, we come across a small hot spring in Tatopani. From there, we cross another hill and go over the Buddha Gandaki on a suspension bridge. This time, we climb a steep but well-made staircase, cross the earth's ridge, and then go over the ridge to Dobhan. As we cross the suspension bridge over Yaru Khola, we climb stone steps, cross the river, and then climb more stone steps to reach Thar Bharyang. We cross the western side of Budhi Gandaki, climb a steep hill, walk along a river, and head towards the village of Jagat. We spend the night in Jagat.
Day 06: Deng [1,804m/5,917 ft.]: 6 - 7 hrs
We start our journey today by climbing up a rocky hill to reach Salleri and then get off at Sirdibas. As we keep moving, the valley slowly gets bigger until we reach Ghatta Khola. We then go down along the river to the long suspension bridge in Pilim, which is the main town of the Gurung people. The path then goes north above the lowest house in the village and follows the same route through the orchards to Ekle Bhatti. The trail now takes us into a big, uninhabited canyon. At this point, we go down the grassy slopes, cross the Buddha Gandaki river, walk a while along the west side, cross to the east bank, and then come back. After crossing the Kola, we reach the small village of Deng. We will stay overnight in Deng.
Day 07: Namrung [2,630m/8,626ft]: 6 - 7 hrs
After a short walk through Deng, we cross the Buddha Gandaki and climb up to Rana at 1910 meters. From the bridge, we slowly climb to join the trail from Bhi, then head west into the Budhi Gandaki valley. The trail goes through forests and mani walls, and we turn into a corner that gives a view of the Ghap. There's another route too, where we go through the village of Prok. Prok has a great view of the Himalayan Circuit. We keep crossing the Budi Gandaki several times today and come across many gompas along the way. The trail follows the river both above and beyond it through a thick forest. After crossing the river in a beautiful spot where a small gorge makes a loud sound, the forest is dense and the trail is ready again. The fun continues as we climb the last ridge and reach Namrung. We spend the night in Namrung.
Day-08: Samagaon [3,530m/11,578 ft.]: 6-7 hrs.
The village of Namrung offers a beautiful view of Siring and the Ganesh Himal. From there, you can see Mt. Himal Chuli to the south. We climbed up through the jungle to Lihi, a lovely village with many hens and barley fields. The trail crosses the Simnang Himal valley and stays close to the Ganesh Himal throughout. We continued through the villages of Sho, Lho, and Shyala before arriving at Sama Village. From Lho village, we enjoyed more views of Mt. Manaslu and also visited the famous Ribung Gompa. In the village of Syala, we were surrounded by high mountains like the Himal Chuli and Peak 29 (Ngadi Chuli) on the left, Manaslu and big glaciers on the right, and other glaciers on the right side. Finally, we saw the Ganesh Himal. Today's trip ended in Samagaon, where we spent the night.
Day-09: Samagaon & to Pungyen gompa, Retrace Samagaon: 6 - 7 hrs. exploration
We spent the day in Samagaon relaxing and getting used to the place. Today, we learned about the rich traditions of the Sherpa people. We were excited to see thousands of statues with inscriptions and pictures of Buddhists and Sherpa women wearing traditional clothes and jewelry. Near the Sama village, on a small hill, is the ancient Gompa called Pungyen Gompa, a monastery with beautiful views of the snowy mountains. It is named after Manaslu, which means "the isolated peak," and the word Pungyen means bracelet. The monastery was destroyed a year after Japan's first failed attempt to climb Manaslu. The locals believe that the attempt angered the gods, and when the Japanese tried again a year later, they faced strong resistance to stop them. They eventually succeeded in 1959. We stayed overnight in Samagaon.
Day 10: Samdo [3,860m/12,660 ft.]: 4 - 5 hrs.
Descend Budhi Gandaki River, which turns north & follow the bridge over the river. Leading to the Manaslu Base camp(Larkya la Trail passes) thru several men’s walls as the valley begins to expand. It is easy access to a river above the river that passes through the juniper & birch forests of Kermo Kharka. Down to the shelf, we go cross-Buddha Gandaki on a wooden bridge & climb to a higher elevation between the two forks of the river. From the price of stones, we can see a large white can. Finally, we pass Samdo. Overnight in Samdo.
Day 11:Samdo Rest Day
This is another day set aside for proper practice. There are two options for us today. The option we recommend is to go up, up the valley directly behind the village of Samdo. This increase will take us to some of the business transit to Tibet to get some good ideas about Mt. Manlulu & other Himalayan tribes include Simrang, Hiunchuli, Ngadi, Larkye Peak, Che, & Kang Guru in the background. On the way to this view, we pass many seasonal herds called doxas & see other beautiful mountain birds such as Lophophorus (Nepal's national bird), Lammergeyer, & Himalayan Griffin. Another modern route would be a trip to Gya La ('great crossing') north of Samdo, the busiest trade route to Tibet. However, this is a long walk (all day) which is why it can be a little stressful. Overnight in Samdo.
Day 12: Dharamsala/Larkya B. C. [4,460m/14, 628 ft.]: 4 - 5 hrs.
To this day, we continue our journey across the ridge, crossing the Budi Gandaki wooden bridge, & start climbing. When we cross two streams & see the Larkya Glacier around the Salka Khola valley then ascend to the stone lodge (4450 m), which is not a residence but a type of shelter called Dharmshala, also known as Larke Phedi. A short walk today also leaves a lot to be desired in the afternoon. Overnight in Dharmashala.
Day 13: Larkya la [5,160m/16, 924 ft.] - Bimthang [3720m/12, 201 ft.]: 8 - 9 hrs.
After a short hike, we reach the valley north of Larkya Glaciers where we can enjoy a beautiful view of Cho Danda & Larkya Peak. Finally, we walk through the snow moraines, making a slow climb only to the end of the earth's crust. From time immemorial, there are outstanding views of Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, Kangguru, & the great Annapurna II. It is farther away than usual at Bimtang, but the entrance to these lowlands & the fog of night enters with Mt. Mananaslu getting close to you is an amazing experience. Overnight at Bimthang.
Day 14: Tilije [2300m/7544ft]: 5 - 6 hrs.
From the beach in Bimthang, we can enjoy the beautiful views of Mt. Manaslu, Lamjung Himal, Himlung Himal, & Cheo Himal. We continue down & cross the steep pasture (Sangure Kharka) followed by a bridge over Dudh Khola. We travel through the rhododendron forest & follow the trail through a small valley until we reach the heavily cultivated village of Karche, 2785 meters. We pass the fields before going up the hill. The trail exits the line with a large arc, sweeping the river bank at 2580m. A short distance beyond the city of Gho. Due to yesterday's fatigue, we can rest in Gho but better accommodation is available in Tilije, so we recommend staying in Tilije. Overnight in Tilije Village.
Day 15: Chame (2,710m/8,891ft) 6-7 hrs.
Join classic Annapurna trail. From Tilije we descend first then cross a suspension bridge & ascend until we reach Thoche village. After which we follow a fairly straight trail & come across a Power House for electricity production in Bagarchhap village. From Bagarchaap-Chame a few steep forested ridges, along the several landslides by the route. Remember to look up though, as you will be rewarded with sensational views of some of the major Himalayan peaks like Lamjung Himal, Annapurna II, & Annapurna IV (7,525m/24,688ft). Overnight in Chame.
Day 16: Pisang(3,700m/12,139ft): 5-6 hrs.
A steep, narrow path through dense jungle will bring you to the surface of the curved rocks, rising 1500m from the river. As the trail opens it is surrounded by beautiful Himalayan peaks. Overnight in Pisang.
Day 17: Manang (3,500m/11,482ft): 4-5 hrs.
Enter the upper Manang region, where you will see the difference between the land & the plants. The cold & dry weather made this area very difficult. We also get a beautiful view of the high mountains of the Himalayas. Overnight in Manang.
Day 18: Siri Kharka (4,060m/13,320ft): 4-5 hrs.
From Manang, we leave through the western gates and follow the road to the river. We cross the river and keep going on the south side, walking through a forest of conifer trees that look over the Khangsar valley. From Khangsar, we head to Siri Kharka and pass by a monastery along the way. Walking uphill can get tired, but we’ll have Gungang Himal and Mt. Chulu in the background to keep us company. We stay overnight in Siri Kharka.
Day 19: Tilicho Base Camp (4,140m/13,583ft): 5-6 hrs.
From Siri Kharka to Tilicho Base Camp, it is very steep, but it has areas of the world that could be dangerous. It's not hard to walk, but the trails are very narrow. The route passes through the middle of the ground crossing. The roadblocks are impressive. Overnight at Tilicho Base Camp.
Day 20: Tilicho Lake (4,949m/16,138 ft) & back to Siri Kharka: 5-6 hrs.
Starting Tilicho Base Camp the road continues taking to the moraine's conclusion & on grassy slopes to few bulgy beams carved on the slope. On one side is Lake Tilicho(situated at the foot of the northern surface of Tilicho Peak) which forms part of the ice wall of the 1950's French group The Great Barrier. French group leader Maurice Herzog called Tilicho Lake a Great Ice Lake. The lake is also home to an important Hindu site as the holy lake encompasses one of the most sacred Hindu texts, the Ramayan. We take our step back & return to Siri Kharka. Overnight in Siri Kharka.
Day 21: Yak kharka (4,040m/13,020ft):4-5 hrs.
On the way back from Tilicho Lake, the route from Siri Kharka to Yak Kharka, on the main circuit route, avoids back to Kangsar & Manang. We disembarked from Siri Kharka towards There's Gomba & within minutes reach the railway station. Also, we stay on the left & reach Old Khagsar after a short walk. Khhangsar is not isolated from the shepherds of time & during festivals. We follow a rocky wall to the north outside Khangsar. We walk further until we reach the annual bridge in the village of Thorang Khola. We cross the river to the east band & then ascend for a while to the plain. We continue on until we reach Yak Kharka. Overnight at Yak Kharka.
Day 22: Thorang Phedi: (4,420m/14501ft): 3-4 hrs.
From Yak kharka to Thorang Phedi walking up the hill. After walking for some time we crossed the suspension bridge to reach the village of Ledar. We also climbed up to Thorang Phedi which is about an hr. from Leder. On this trip, we are rewarded with one of the best views of other Himalayan distances such as Mt. Gundang, Mt. Syagang, Thorung Peak & Mt. Khatungkan. Overnight at Thorang Phedi.
Day 23: Muktinath (8-9 hrs.): Drive Jomsom (2,743m/8,999 ft.): 1 hr.
Today we cross the famous Thorung La Pass (5,416m / 17,769ft) & continue up into Muktinath. Passing is fun to reach & is a transition from one large Himalayan valley to another. From here, at the very bottom of our west is the Kalai Gandaki River. The descent is slow at first & then later slows down & ends on the southern side of the valley. We cross the stop bridge, walk past the famous Muktinath temple & reach the village of Muktinath / ranipauwa. From here we can enjoy great distances in Dhaulagiri & Annapurna. After that, we drive to Jomsom. Overnight in Jomsom.
Day 24: Fly Pokhara: 25 minutes by flight
After breakfast, your travel team will help you with your bags to the airport & give you one last. When you arrive in Pokhara, you will need to check into a hotel. After that, you can relax or walk on the beautiful streets of Pokhara. Overnight in Pokhara.
